Primera was originally commissioned to investigate the possibility of a BID for Victoria. The partnership was established in 2007 with the long term aspiration of setting a Business Improvement District (BID) for the area. The proposed BID would have the potential to provide a range of essential services, focusing very much on a “clean and safe” theme, and be established for a five-year term.
The Victoria Partnership went to ballot in October 2009 and was successful, with the BID going live on 1 April 2010. The VBID is now in its second term after an extremely positive ballot result, with 63% turnout and 85% votes cast in favour of the BID. The renewal term is April 2015 to March 2020.
